What are the new trends for this year and which ones to follow?
We have had a look at the trends in the UK, Sweden and the US and here are our 5 favourites.
Colours for spring and summer
Farrow and Ball, our Dorset based paint company, has just launched their new colours for this spring. A lovely collage of muted hues in line with all the muted greens, browns and beiges that continue to dominate. My favourites are "Broccoli Brown", "Etruscan Red" and "Kakelugn" which is the word for an old style tiled wood stove in Swedish.
Which are yours?

Sustainability, Style and Wellness
Sustainable materials, functional pieces combined with the Biophilic ethos continues through all styles, whereas you like modern minimalism or luxurious maximalism according to Elle Decoration.
Kathy Kuo says in her interview for House and Garden "Thoughtful, sustainable design is always on trend, but the thirst for decorating with antiques and more unique pieces will not only lead to us shopping more responsibly, but it will also see a rise in 'shopping small', and celebrating handmade designs and craftsmanship from all over the world.

Personal and Cosy!
More and more people are tired of the steady social media flow of perfect "show home interiors" (unless you are trying to sell your home of course!) and are opting for pieces that prioritise functionality and comfort. A perfectly comfortable reading chair with perhaps a miss matching but functional foot stool or the extra deep TV- sofa for two, create homes that work for our everyday living.

Room Healing
Bathrooms and bedrooms have been on everyone's mind for some time where we see designers creating sanctuaries for relaxation and reflection. To further build on this, there is a new trend "Room Healing", that connects our seen environment and our emotional well-being. The psychological impact of colours is important in the concept of "Room Healing", adding natural greenery as well as a few well chosen personal pieces that resonates with you and your journey, all for spiritual well-being. It is definitely a trend we are going to hear a lot about in the future.

Statement lighting
Fluid forms and futuristic inspiration, statement lighting over a coffee table, in a bedroom or as a floor light is a big trend everywhere. Think of the lighting both as functional as well as a pieces of art.

Embracing personality, calm and wellness for 2025 is definitely as trend we love!!
